How it works
One hour contains 60 minutes. To convert a duration to decimal hours, add the hours to the minutes divided by 60. Converting back rounds the total to the nearest minute. This tool converts durations, not time zones.
2 h 18 min = 2 + 18 ÷ 60 = 2.3 h
Is 2.30 hours the same as 2 h 30 min?
No. The decimal part, 0.30, represents 30% of an hour, which is 18 minutes. 2 h 30 min is 2.5 hours.
