How it works
To find p% of a value V, multiply V by p, then divide by 100. Percentage change compares the difference with the starting value. Calculations retain their precision until the result is displayed.
20% of 150 = 150 × 20 ÷ 100 = 30
Does a 20% increase cancel out a 20% decrease?
No. Starting with 100, a 20% increase gives 120, then a 20% decrease gives 96. Each percentage applies to a different base.
